Peonies from Peony Passions

Herbaceous Peony

At present all our peonies have been imported from China, where there is a long history of cultivation of tree peonies, for both their ornamental and medicinal properties. The naming of Peonies is very complex and something that we leave to the Botanists who are actively trying to sort out the varieties from the species etc. Our main interest is their ornamental qualities and trying to determine which varieties are suited to our climate, and while we do our best to determine the accurate naming of the peonies we supply, there will of course be the odd surprise which makes the collection of peonies an interesting occupation. The suffruticosa group of peonies that we offer all have 2~3 stems per plant and are between 8~12 inches in Height. The rockii are much bigger plants 4~5 stems and between 12~18 inches
